The London Borough of Hackney launched Hackney Homes in April, 2006 to deliver modern homes, provide excellent accessible services and to improve the neighbourhood. They have a portfolio of over 30,000 council properties, ranging from 3, 4 bedroom houses to 1, 2 bedroom and studio communal flats, and are involved with managing housing, council house rental and repairing and maintaining homes. Since many of these buildings were constructed using Asbestos containing materials and built before 1999, Hackney homes are required to manage asbestos for all properties in order to comply with current regulations (regulation 4 of CAR 2006 and H&S at work Act 1974) and for the health and safety of their tenants, staff and contractors.
Since early Feb 2010, AcePSI have been working with Hackney Homes to provide a “One Shop Stop” for all their Asbestos related services – the main area’s these include are: Management Surveys, Refurbishment/Demolition Surveys, Air Fibre Monitoring, Consultancy/advice and supply/management of an AMS Database for recording of all information.

To date we have been successfully managing Hackney Homes asbestos requirements, and surveyed a wide range of over 500 properties. This work has been carried out within the agreed timescales, within budget and accident free. We feel that this case study shows our commitment and aims of providing a top quality service to our customers
